If Boucher works hard enough, he can blossom into the 4th liner that Pete always wanted him to be.

Mind boggling if they won't be there I mean what about all this competition everyone keeps talking about and then you have Marty's son who certainly won't even be in Albany and Johnson and Thompson who I also can't see even cracking Albany |

I'd say Johnson and Thompson are good bets for Albany, but I see what you're saying. |

I'm 99.99% sure they'll be at camp. Whether they make the team is another story, but they'll be there. |

Thinks so ? I know you where saying Thompson had a pretty good year but what about all the guys already down there who do they steal a job from and what about bell he seems like a real interesting prospect I'm thinking a guy like bernier might end up in Albany so he would be bumping someone down there down a spot |

I can't imagine that Thomson and Johnson would be at camp and Matteau and Boucher wouldn't. It's got to be an error. |

Todd Cordell: Devils Training Camp Roster - Todd.Cordell
This has to be the oldest Roster in the NHL..
If Schneider plays lights out I could see them squezing in to the playoffs.
Edit: The east is still very wide open, after Boston, Pitsburgh, Tampa.. IMO |

Also, I wonder if Helgeson, Scarlett, Black, and Bell will be there. |

They'll still finish ahead of the Senators. |

Very possible.. Both are bubble playoff teams in the east coming into this season. Could go either way for both teams.

You're on. I live in a hut made of mud in the swamps of Jersey btw, so have fun with that when you win. |

All those guys (i.e Boucher, Matteau) that are signed will be in camp. We can all do the simple math. The Devils have a full roster in signed players, Gelinas as an RFA, Carter in camp, three tryouts, etc. There aren't enough spots for everyone. There probably needs to be a trade before the season begins.
I wouldn't mind bringing Marty back as an AHL goaltender, especially if Clemensen stays in the NHL and Kinkaid starts in the A. Clermont, Wedgewood, and A. Brodeur do not look like NHL caliber goaltenders in the making. If they are, then they probably won't be with the Devils. Having Marty down in Albany would help the team get better ticket sales and allow Marty to help Moose develop Kinkaid.
I also wouldn't mind having Gomez in the A as well. He is slow and terrible, but knows the Devils system well and would probably do fine if there were a bunch of injuries and he needed to be called up. |

I don't think Gomez will play in Albany. That place is where careers go to die.
Not that he has other offers, but if I were him I'd rather retire on a beach somewhere. |

Maybe you are right. All I know is that the Devils brought in two new forwards, have resigned every forward except Ryan Carter who is attending camp, and now Scott Gomez thinks he will have a spot to play? Sounds like a bad bet to me. At the very least, he will have to start in the AHL before a spot opens, like Steve Bernier did 2 seasons ago. |

Is this turning into a Carter vs. Gomez for the center spot??? |
